The Sex Pistols only contribution was to make punk fashionable, they really never did anything that hadn't already been done. When looking at the state of music today The Clash and the Ramones have had the most lasting influence, The Sex Pistols are almost an afterthought. John Lydon deserved better

Well they did have a pretty big influence as far as electronica goes rather than punk, especially in the 90s.
I just think it`s a shame they imploded so badly in the mid 80s, those last 3 or 4 albums were bloody awful.

Probably the most important punk band was The Homosexuals or Debris, something like that.

The Ramones were awful and The Pistols were a lie. They both lose in my books.

The Pistols were a lie?

This being a band who openly said they couldn`t play , hate each others guts & were only in it for the money.

That sounds about as honest as you can get to me.

The whole 'Cash for Chaos' idea, was only really revealed through documentaries and such. The Pistols did not believe in what they were singing about, therefore I would say they were a lie.

Crass meant something.
