Jesus christ green day isnt punk...Should i go make a thread about Hanson in the jazz and blues forum and will people say move it just go "If only people would lighten up..."?

I found the thread you cited above, and to quote you: "Thier pop punk.". Your exact words. By your own admission, you state they belong to a sub genre of punk known as "Pop Punk".

I'm not arguing whether Green Day is punk or not, I'm mearly citing the fact that most people in the world (whether right or not) believe they are punk. I know you are probably thinking that "most people" aren't the type that frequent this message board, and you are probably right. But, there is no need to take a crap on people just because they think Green Day is punk.

Genres are opinion based, and therefore are not absolute truth (aka opinions). If you want to say that Green Day isan't punk (after you already said they were), thats your bit, but don't come and crap on our discussion just because we want to talk about them. If you hate these threads so much, why don't you just ignore them? When you post your genre dictatorships, you just mearly make this thread move back up to the top, giving it more attention and more posts. Just ignore it if it makes you so mad.
