To be totally honest, a lot of us grew up with Green Day, and if you think of all of the bands/artists that you listened to threw adolescence, Green Day are probably one of the better bands.
They're older, less poppy stuff, still sounds good after this time. I think the problem with Green Day, is that they appealed to us as alienated teens/young adults themselves, and as time passed, they lost that charm. Ditto, Blink 182. |

I'm sure Greenday & Blink 182 will still appeal to some, but they had to move away from their original sound in order to remain relevant I believe. Songs like Time Of Your Life won't have had the same effect if they were being sung by a group of 40 somethings. I'm not a Blink 182 fan btw, they're cover of Another Girl, Another Planet lead me to dislike them with a passion. However, I will admit to listen to them whilst growing up, as I did Greenday. |
