Oh, so you have to read every thread about a band before you can post about them? All that just to keep the genre snobs off you back. If only people would lighten up...

Green day isnt punk it doesnt belong in this ****ing forum shut the **** up about lightening up you really only need to read one post in anarchy doll's thread on green day to realize its a ****ty idea putting them in here.

Jesus christ green day isnt punk...Should i go make a thread about Hanson in the jazz and blues forum and will people say move it just go "If only people would lighten up..."?

I found the thread you cited above, and to quote you: "Thier pop punk.". Your exact words. By your own admission, you state they belong to a sub genre of punk known as "Pop Punk".

I'm not arguing whether Green Day is punk or not, I'm mearly citing the fact that most people in the world (whether right or not) believe they are punk. I know you are probably thinking that "most people" aren't the type that frequent this message board, and you are probably right. But, there is no need to take a crap on people just because they think Green Day is punk.

Genres are opinion based, and therefore are not absolute truth (aka opinions). If you want to say that Green Day isan't punk (after you already said they were), thats your bit, but don't come and crap on our discussion just because we want to talk about them. If you hate these threads so much, why don't you just ignore them? When you post your genre dictatorships, you just mearly make this thread move back up to the top, giving it more attention and more posts. Just ignore it if it makes you so mad.

Green day in the past has just cause forum riot after forum riot all because people think they should be in pop.Ill post wherever the hell i want thank ya very much.Im saying green day shouldnt be here but then again seeing as the only people who know punk are pretty much gone (jesus,riseabove,oi to the world etc..) theres really no point in arguing anymore.

The only Green Day CD I own is Dookie, and I really enjoy that CD at times. Punk / pop-punk isan't my favorite genre, but for good or bad, Green Day has had a large impact on music as a whole. It seems like the band has lived a little bit beyond its usefulness (as many bands have), and now they just produce music because thats what they have done for so long rather than making good music. And I guess maybe they have such an inflated view of themselves that they think everyone will pay alot of money to see any appearance or CD they make. I thought I heard a couple times that Green Day has done free concerts?? Maybe they still have some sanity left.
