ok, i've changed my mind, i do have a favourite album, it's L.A. Woman...perfection, from the changeling and love her madly, through L.A.Woman ( the opening is one of the best ever, with the bass line...gooood)and Hyacinth House to the chilled out Riders on the Storm...the crown of their work...and an absolute classic
I don't know how anyone could listen to "roadhouse blues" and say its not a good song. I think thats their best work.
i have l.a woman and i think it's cool...but i haven't heard their other stuff...i hope i'm not disappointed...

ray manzarek is my favourite member, without the keyboards the songs wouldnt of been the same. i thnk he played a huge part in the band.

The Offical Doors Thread
i like the doors favorite song is the end
i love light my fire but it does drag on a bit much.
my other favorites would be love her madly and soul kitchen |
I like People Are Strange and Love Me Two Times and When The Music's Over, I love the beginning of that one.
'crystal ship' is really great, real mellow start. 'queen of the highway' is also great, the part when jim sings "he was a monster.." really cool.
jim morrison in turn helped create punk. iggy pop was heavily influenced by him. not so much musically but just the way he acted and the lifestyle

This is what happened to all the great musicians sooner or later. They died - much too early - and left us behind. |

i know heaps of people who hate the Doors.
i dont love them but their OK. ive got there first 6 albums because i got them in a 6 cd for the price of 3 package thing. some of the stuff they did was pretty average but some is heaps good |
I first heard the doors from my older sis who kneels down on her lil preying mat at night and says a prey to them every night. i don't listen to them much but i can still chuck a song on and it will soon get me tapping away with me singing the occasional line.
im invited to a dress up party, and thinkn of going as morrison. only id feel like the biggest tool with no shirt, also im not too happy about a certain part(s) of my anatomy popping out, when i wear the tight black leather jeans.
theres some really funky stuff on their first two albums, particularly soul kitchen
I love the doors, their debut album was amazing, Morrison was a great frontman but i do think its unfair for him to get all the popularity while the rest of the band were barely in the spotlight, Robby Krieger, Ray Manzerek and John Densmore were all fantastic musicians.

2.The fact that his suicide letter has 2 completely different grammar styles, suggesting that the second half was finished by someone else. 3.The amount of herion that was in Cobains blood system, 3 times the lethal dose. I just find it hard to believe that Cobain would write a suicide letter, change his writing style on the last couple of sentences for some reason, manage to blow his brains out with enough herion in his system to kill a small horse and then wipe off his own fingerprints when he is already dead. |
huh weird well i dunno its just maybe hes not even dead
Well, hes obviously dead...And he most likely did kill himself...if he was on that much heroin what tells you that he wouldnt change the way that he wrote...Hmm...What i thought...im using your evidence against you
isnt this a Doors thread?
anyway, jsut listening to live at Hollywood - the version of when the musics over is great |
Im sick of officail threads, either make some unofficial ones or stop making them all together
Whats making you soo sick of them...huh..to me it doesnt make sense...it makes the thread stick out for people to see...
Ok...i need an answere buddy
no ne talks to you
go screw a chimpanzee big 3

I love The Doors. And I agree, theyre way underrated, but they really are amazing.
a quite talented band tonnes of great guitar and oregon, poor jimmy.
BUMP
I like The Doors. Jim was...well....different. Yes different is the way to say it. |
Anyone watched the oliver stone movie on the doors, If not I recommend it. It really gives you a perspective on the band and Morrison's life. The doors are really unique, and I agree underrated. They are not my favorite band my no means, but I can appreciate them. I bought the legacy cds a long time ago, which kick ass. Light my fire, The end, Love Me 2 Times, When the Music's over, Spanish Caravan, Roadhouse Blues, Love Her Madly, *L.A. Woman*, Riders On The Storm, all kick ass. Riders on the storm is my favorite for sure, the lyrics: "into this house we're born, into this world we're thrown, like a dog without a bone and actor out alone" are purely amazing and so true. Morrison would have done well as just a poet, let alone a musician. People who dis the doors suck.
If you like the doors you should check out Days Of The New. The doors was their main influence and they are one of my favorite bands. They only put out 3 albums, because their lead singer/ guitarist was a crackhead and fired the rest of the band after their debut album, but nonetheless they kick ass. Check out touch peel and stand, shelf in the room, the downtown and face of the earth, and enemy. Enemy has an amazing acoustical solo at the end of it. They are like an acoustical doors minus the keyboards...
