I really don't see anything wrong with what I said. His playing is simply dull in the part of that video that I watched. Don't ask for my opinions if you're just going to get pissy when I'm honest with you.

"His playing is simply dull".
Says the guy who publishes minutes upon minutes of random noises and then declares them as "music". Here I go again...... pa·thet·ic pəˈTHedik/Submit adjective 1. arousing pity, especially through vulnerability or sadness. "she looked so pathetic that I bent down to comfort her"

Are you asking me to lie to you? Because this is genuinely how I felt about his playing in that particular video. He's hella skilled, but all of the stuff that he played--especially the solo--just had me waiting for it to end as it felt pointlessly modal. How do you feel about the music? Let's actually discuss music instead of this stupid feud.

Frown and I could compare Holdsworth and Lane with the merits and drawbacks of each and you know have a discussion. He likes Waits. I don’t. He doesn’t call me pathetic over it. He explains why he thinks my OPINION is off. Just sayin

Well, being a guitarist who likes to burn, I'm a bit partial. I LOVE the music. Love the fact that those 3 guys would go out and mostly improvise and feed off of each other. Temporal Analogues of Paradise was completely improvised and it's maybe my favorite fusion album of all time.
I've already commented on Lane's solos, which blend jazz, rock, fusion, neo-classical, blues, west-Indian, and the kitchen sink. But his "made up on the spot" double stops and triads during those first 10 minutes is mind blowing.

Frown, sorry for the diss. Totally unwarranted.

Rip two legends. At least Al Di Meola, Steve Morse and John McLaughlin are still kickin.
