So, like, is Warrior on the Edge of Time really considered the weakest album of their "classic" period? It's clearly the album where they perfectly focused their unfocused focus into focused unfocusness in a way that they never quite had before. It was basically the culmination of everything they had been working up to ever since their debut.

In Search of Space>>>
Although I haven't listened to either of them in a few years. |
Hawkwind are a bit of a daunting band to get into, but they're well worth the exploration. Hall Of The Mountain Grill remains my favorite of their 70's recordings, but they are also one of those bands that got pretty interesting well into the 90's. Hell, I'd say their 1990 outing Space Bandits is probably my favorite of all their LPs from start to finish.

My fav Hawkwind track is "7 X 7" off "Space Ritual" (which is the greatest live heavy lp ,set or otherwise, made.)
However much I love this band, it must be said that it is simple music. That is why there are many, many Hawkwind-clone bands, but near zero early King Crimson-clones. |
Cause it heavy and make ground go wub wub wub.

Hawkwind quizzer:
the 70s movie where "You Shouldn't Do That" is playing and a square enters the room and asks what that racket is. |
Okay. That went down well.
...... "Silver Machine pisses over anything Black Sabbath ever did" WRONG. But did you know that JAMES LAST covered "Silver Machine"? http://i.imgur.com/0OzwDQP.jpg |
