Collect all the best prog bands in the world, put them in one theater for a weekend, and maybe sell out once a year. OK…. that's cool but hardly thriving.

I wish it wasn't true believe me.

On the other hand, someone shouts DJ! and you have 10,000 kids clambering to get into an electronic festival. Something has gone terrible wrong.

I got to see Steve Hackett once, front row seats. So close you could touch him, quite literally. In the middle of the show, he shook the hands of the fans up front. I heard he was big in South America, and can easily fill arena size concert venues there.

I remember I got to see Musical Box twice - loved them. At the same time they had an Aussie Pink Floyd cover band, but didn't go cause those tickets were fetching around $200. It's all about supple & demand. The Musical Box tickets didn't go for that much. Last show I went was Steve Morse & Joe Statriani (Satch headlined). So it was an arena size concert, but it practically sold out the venue.
