Like the idea of a Core Group (so much better than the Corrs group!) and I guess then this is us...

The Prog Mafia: "Wha? You don' like a ten minute keyboard solo y'say? This makes me very sad. And when I get very sad, people get hurt, capische?"

Will randomise and get back to yaz tomorrow! And I'll start working on a form we can fill in for the reviews.

In that case we can run the club Monday to Sunday, with each new album being up on a Monday.

OK guys this week's random number (picked via Custom Random Number Generator) is ...

38

which gives us, would you believe,

Now, we have already done this, so I don't know: do you guys want me to go again or do you want to re-review it under the new system?

I don't think we have, but it's a great place to start and the list is not going to be credible if we start skipping albums

Eh, there's no point in re-reviewing Selling England By The Pound. I'll pass til the next generated number.

See, now we have a problem. If one of our core members bows out, where will we be? We definitely did review this, I remember Big Ears going into it at some length. Oooer! I'll dig the post out later.

For now, I think we need to spin again. After all, other than SEBTP, there is no other classic prog album we've already reviewed, so it shouldn't happen again.
Let's see, let's see... come on baby! Daddy needs a new pair of shoes....

166!

and that happens to be....

Ah crap! I hate Jethro Tull! Oh well, this is what we're going with then guys. If SEBTP comes up again we'll just have to ignore it and spin again.

So, the Troika (like that?) need to have our short reviews in by this Sunday. I'll get working on the format, hopefully post that later today.
If he plays that flute just ONCE, I swear....

^^ Yeah thanks rostasi: if we get through 217 albums maybe we'll go for the big one!

For now, here's what I've come up with on the fly. It's very basic, so any additions/changes you want to make let me know. Goes without saying that the comments section is there for you to say what you want to say about the album that isn't covered in the points, and you can extend that as much as you want, or not, as the case may be.

Album title:
Artiste:
Nationality:
Year:
Subgenre:
Player(s):
Familiarity:
Favourite track(s):
Why?
Least favourite track(s):
Why?
Any preconceptions prior to listening, whether good or bad?
Artwork:
Factoids you'd like to share?
Initial impression:
End impression:
Comments:
Rating:

I deliberately haven't included Production as it's something I'm never comfortable discussing, but anyone who wants to can do so in their comments. For each album I'll fill in the first six subheadings so everyone doesn't have to put in the same information over and over.

Ooh, an Ian Anderson solo record? I'll jump back in now.
