Hehe, fortunately no Dave Stewart seems to be a relatively normal name in the english speaking world.

This Dave Stewart is a keyboard player and also composed some of the most intricate, epic and catchy pieces of music from what's generally known as the Canterbury scene. I consider him a genius.

I assumed not, hence the tags. Would have been pretty damn weird though huh? Annie dancing in a hippy-style fog of psychedelic stream of consciousness, or whatever...

Sometimes, people mostly famous in other genres of music have demonstrated their prog chops. F.ex since we're talking Dave Stewart and related, on National Health's prog-fusiony debut, Neil Murray plays bass. He's best known for playing in Whitesnake and Black Sabbath! I don't think Dave Stewart from Eurythmics was ever a progger, though.

If Annie Lennox was in a band with the Canterbury-Dave Stewart, she might have to dance along to something like this :

One of Dave's catchier compositions from NH. Intro before the song gets going lasts until about 2:10 .. Ahh, what magnificent music.

Dave Stewart from the Eurythmics started out playing fusion folk or something, so he's not that far off

Apologies, that came out wrong. I know Caravan's album is better/more important and interesting, but for some reason, I listen to Space Shanty more. I could have gone either way for different reasons, but I'm glad Khan has a few other fans.

I like Hillage's solo albums more, too, though.

ok, ready to vote

Caravan's is probably one of the defining albums of prog, and is near flawless

Khan's, whilst the guitar is awesome, i have some problems with the singing, as it sounds rather weak

so:-

Caravan - 4
Khan - 3

Okay, so are we done here? Four days since the last comment. Is that how we leave it? Caravan rolls over Khan's foot (KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN! --- in-joke for Star Trek nerds) and takes the prize 4/3?

I have more...

Star Trek 2 the movie is a good return to form, though, even if he is
