I saw that too (I think it was in '04 or '05) here in Seattle (Dawn McCarthy is from here). I also saw (and recorded, with permission) a show in Nashville TN, that was SGM and Carla Kihlstedt's great 2 Foot Yard, in the HOTTEST, most INSANELY HUMID venue EVER (years later I saw 2FY and gave them the DVD's of that show, and ALL of them remembered that night for how stupidly hot it was in that room, I'd bet it was 100 degrees at 75% humidity, if that's possible). I never uploaded any of the SGM to YouTube but I did upload a couple of the 2FY show

I apologize for the spotlight that's totally washing out Carla's lovely face

*edited to add: looks like "One Day In May" is glitching for some reason, I checked and my wmv file plays just fine, I will have to convert it to mp4 or something that YouTube will support and re-upload it sometime when I get a chance, my apologies

I love Carla Kihlstedt! Are you into Book of Knots or Tin Hat (Trio) at all?

Edit: beat be to it with that Tin Hat post.

Well, you *did* remind me of Book of Knots, thank you

Carla Kihlstedt & Shahzad Ismaily (he's the drummer in 2 Foot Yard)

She's also in Charming Hostess

She's been a member of the revised latter-day Art Bears

There wasn't a LOT of prog in the late '80's LA scene, but there was the Fibonaccis. They were somewhere between Danny Elfman and Dagmar Krause although not as talented as either of those. Still I like their semi-eponymous EP (fi-bo-na-chez) and their only full length album "Civilizations and its Discotheques". This song was taken from the 1954 William March novel "The Bad Seed".

I only found a couple kinda-sorta version of this on YouTube, so I uploaded my vinyl transfer

Oh, whatever you do, do NOT f*ck with this girl's shoes
