I suppose it could be an opinion based on what we hear normally. The band does certainly have that Radiohead influence, I don't deny that. But I find the instrumentals to be more relate-able to the Pumpkins. However, I will give you that the vocals do sound a bit Thom Yorke-ish, more so than I would have thought before you said anything.

Regardless, I think the band does it well with whatever their influences are.

I think of them as Porcupine Tree light with a lot of influence from Radiohead. Good stuff.

I'm supposed to be going to see these tomorrow night. All I had previously heard was Abducting the Unicorn, which was quite a good album, if not instantly accessible. I didn't think it was, anyway.

I'm currently listening to Variations on a Dream. Quite impressed so far.

New album is a bit of a let down, sounds quite commercial and safe but love Little Man which is the only other album I have heard.

I haven't heard Little Man. Just Abducting the Unicorn, Variations on a Dream, Someone Here Is Missing and the new album All The Wars.Variations on a Dream was by far my favourite of those.

I went to see them live and while they were good and they were fine, they were pretty underwhelming. A good live band who checked all the right boxes and did everything right but ultimately will prove to be forgettable.

Is it possible to have a perfect song? Yes.

I enjoyed the new album, but I couldn't get past the feeling these guys are ripping off Porcupine Tree. But this is the only album I've heard, so I have no clue what the rest of their stuff sounds like.

The new album is definitely a lot more Porcupine Tree-esque but I'll tell you that their other stuff doesn't necessarily sound like a PT ripoff. They went a semi different route with this one than they did with their two previous releases and I liked it. One of their strongest releases in a while.

Huh. I was under the impression that it was a Steve Wilson project this whole time.

Nope. They're very light on the progressive rock in some of their other work, but this is an entirely different project.
