Default Kevin Ayers

I recently looked into some of his solo work. Shooting at the Moon is already one of my favorite psychedelic/prog albums. It contains elements of jazz, avant-garde, pop, psychedelia, folk, musique concrete, hard rock, and probably a few others. The first track, "May I?," is played again later on in the album except the second rendition is Ayers singing it in French (which is awesome to say the least). I've never quite seen that before in an album, but for some reason I prefer the French version over the English one... Anyways, I highly suggest giving this album a listen. "Hat," the last track on the album, is a bit strange, but it's certainly fun to listen to.

Joy of a Toy is another album I decided to download, but I haven't listened to it enough to get an adequate impression of it yet... Sounds good from the little bits I have heard, though.

So, have you guys listened to any of his albums?

I'll have to check that out. I haven't heard anything from Kevin in a long time.

I also knew by the time you'd made that post as word came around relatively quick on the What's Rattlin' mailing list for fans of the Canterbury Scene which I'm part of, but it's been some busy days for me and so I didn't make a post until today. When I wrote "grats", I wasn't actually being sincere as I thought your reply a bit uppity and quite unnecessary as mention of Ayers death obviously belongs in the thread dedicated to him, regardless of whether or not you made a post about it earlier.

I liked The Confessions of Dr. Dream and Other Stories when it was released. Ollie Halsall is featured on the album.
