![]() Extra Life: Secular Works
![]() Say what you will about Charlie Looker's girly singing voice, but you can't deny that the lyrics and instrumentals here are epic. Hey, I even quoted the ending lyrics to This Time in my sig. Now, I'm starting you off at their less accessible album for an important reason: you need to get used to the relentless themes. Honestly, I wouldn't want somebody listening to their 2010 album first and saying "I'M CHRISTIAN/RELIGIOUS AND I'M OFFENDED!". Well, I'm going to tell you something: Extra Life has stated several times that he dislikes religion, and that he is influenced by the SOUNDS of medieval vocal music, not the religious themes. But, once you get used to Charlie's voice, you get a beautiful, medieval avant-rock album. |
