Ah, yes. So you've heard me rambling on about Extra Life, Kayo Dot and company, and you're most definitely interested. Well, just jumping blindly into the genre is a very bad idea. First off, you're going to need to listen to particular albums in a particular order, becuase if one just suddenly decides to listen to Zs' 2007 album Arms after they've finished listening to Vampire Weekend, they're going to be in for a bit of an unpleasant surprise.

so, to make your experience a little easier, I decided to help any newcomers of the genre because I hate seeing people mis-introduced. I'm assuming that all of you MBers are grown up enough to not still think that The Mars Volta is "weird" or "unusual" so, I hope you enjoy your trip through the genre
