Italian Prog/Folk Prog
Can some recommend the best Italian Prog albums? Preferably, mention the best one. I want something that is more on the acoustic side, but not like Comustrippingonacidacoustic because it is hard to figure out the chords to that. I want to figure out the chords because I want to play.
I learned Cirkus by King Crimson on the acoustic guitar and I love the quirky little riffs it has so I want something more like that. I mention Italian Prog because if there is something on the Latin side I would be really interested in that too. |
The big 4 of Italian prog are Premiata Forneria Marconi, Le Orme, Area and Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, I say check those out.
Check the first two PFM albums out first. |
Italian prog isn't really my area but Alphataurus' S/T is really good, if a little dated in places... I think only the first track features acoustic though. I've posted this song before but I have to post it again, e bellissima!

Fabrizio De André: Premiata Forneria Marconi
Italian prog and folk, that I think boo boo mentioned before. Pink Floyd like prog in that album, otherwise Fabrizio De Andre has folk albums of basically just him and a guitar. |
