For such a great music forum that this is, I kinda expected there to be more [rabid] Ozrics fans.....

Top five bands of all time for me.

Wow Haven't seen this yet, this is rare...

Edit: Ah, some Pongmaster's footage

I have around 10 of their albums. Great band indeed. I'm so glad I came across them to kick off 2011, I'm ****ing thankful for searching up Instrumental Prog-Rock on last.fm. I thought it was to good to be true for them to be an all instrument band, but I looked them up and I just about screamed. They are already on my top 3 favorite bands, there music causes major eargasms. More love for the Ozrics here!!

Some love for Ozric Tentacles....

I have been listening to this band again recently and I must say they are really great musicians. It is easy to look down on space/prog rock for a lot of people but the muscianship is second to none and Ozrics set themselves apart with a rare an wonderful take on it IMO. Love the way they weave a mixture of cascading psychedelic guitar soloing with ambient, ethnic sounds, trippy synths and mix up into something which works a s a whole.

The guitarist Ed Wynne is nothing less than a master axeman.

I can recommend either their latest cd or dragging your forgetton cd's out from the early 90's.

cheers everyone.

Hey I just did a search and found this, I could not agree more.

fantastic group, never got the respect they deserve and still going !

Complex, interesting, something for eveyone, relaxing, uplifting and exhilarating.

one of the best bands in the world IMO, they have an incredible back catalogue.

If you visit their website you will be greeted with some free music courtesy of a player on the site.
:pimp:

Couldn't have said it better myself

Couldn't agree more

They really need to start touring, at least just once in California, specifically San Diego : P I got one of their concerts from Netflix but I couldn't play it, it was in some weird foreign format.

Their music fucks with my mind!

How the hell do they come up with the name of, well, everything?

Mrd00d 05-27-2011 02:22 PM

Live at the Pongmaster's Ball? I dloaded it, it's amazing. You should definitely try again.

Ozrics was playing... Seattle I think... one day on the west coast and then back to Europe >.> We may get a chance to see them. But if they come within 9 hours, best take a roadtrip.

Insane Guest 05-27-2011 02:40 PM

That's the one, I'll try downloading it though it would be better to watch on the big screen with surround sound...

I'd sure take a road trip to see these guys, they are apparently in Europe right now, but I'm sure they'll eventually do a show somewhere near here.

I really like the Ozrics but just one album at a time. For a Progressive band I find them to be unadventurous at times but when I am in the mood for them, they hit the spot perfectly.

Insane Guest 05-27-2011 09:43 PM

Yeah I know what you mean, I only listen to them when I feel really feel like it. It's not often, but when it happens, I have a prog-gasm, and the 15+ albums I have makes a good time.

snagglepuss 05-30-2011 07:51 PM

Ozrics are one of my new favorite bands. I only just recently discovered them. I have a bunch of live shows that I downloaded. Great band with superb musicianship.

Mrd00d 05-31-2011 06:00 AM

And honestly, whatever band drama aside... Ed Wynne is a superb musician. Love his guitar work, his general sounds and effects, echo, etc. and the drummer is quite a monster. He seems to play at twice the tempo as the rest of the band most of the time. His endurance is amazing....

The whole crew works well together and it's a shame that I hear the group is stripped down to bare bones (they lost one or two members...), so I'm hoping for the best for the Ozrics.
