Animals came out at the time when I was most heavily into acid which is probably why it wins. The timing was just perfect. Plus I shared Waters' viewpoint of the world back then.

Dogs is my favorite PF song ever and the solo right before "And when you lose control....." is Gilmour's best IMO. It not only totally nails the melody of the backing but also emotes exactly the tone of Waters' lyrics. One of the only solos that I'll still play every now and then. Never been able to quite get the "evil laughing" lick tone though. I think it's some sort of ring modulator.

Even this guy doesn't get it right.

Agree. Dogs is pribably my favorite song of any band.

For Dogs, Gilmour used a splitter out and went to an amp with one and to a Leslie revolving speaker with the other and recorded both outputs. The leslie speaker really gives it that throttling liveliness.

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

No wonder I've never been able to quite nail it. Thanks!

This is the thread for your favourite Floyd album, not your favourite Floyd song.

But it's nobody's favourite Pink Floyd album regardless of the fact that Echoes is everyone's favourite Pink Floyd song.
