the Wall...works well as a complete album, but very few of the tracks are capable of a life outside of the album....so not sure if that makes it a great album or not???!
my top PF albums are: 1.the wall 2.division bell 3.wish you were here 4.final cut 5.dark side of the moon in that order. the thing that lets dsotm down imo is that abysmal "money" track,,,it just doesnt fit in with the rest of the album |
The Wall is my least favorite. In the context of the movie, the songs are great... on their own without the visuals to accompany them... meh. Feels like filler.
Should have cut it down to one CD. |
The biggest turn off for me is The Wall's length. As a story it's great. But it's just too big for me to casually sit down and listen to. On that note I consider it to be Floyd's last good album. It just should of been a single album.

The awful acoustic songs? That's like half the album, they're what make it so damn good.

DSOTM for me.

My favorite Pink Floyd albums would go in this order:
1. Animals 2. The Final Cut 3. Wish You Were Here 4. Meddle 5. Division Bell I find it quite hard to explain as to why Animals is my favorite Pink Floyd album, I guess if I was going to put it into simple terms, the album has some sort of mystical allure to it. The track "Dogs" is absolutely mesmerizing, from the amazing guitar riffs to the bone chilling vocals, it just sold the entire album for me. Now, I also enjoy the Final Cut immensly as well, I think this one of Pink Floyd's most underrated albums, it is very depressing yes, but I think that's what makes the album so good. |

Wish You Were Here.
To be fair, I've only heard four or so different Pink Floyd albums and I've only heard them a handful of times. |
