If someone wants to hear a decent example of psychedelic music, then I would cite bands such as The United States of America or The Doors. Can't go wrong with a little neo-psychedelia either... |

Any good modern prog rock albums that I should listen to or any prog rock in general?
A few prog bands that I enjoy are Gentle Giant, Yes, Henry Cow, Art Bears, Univers Zero, Magma, early Soft Machine, and Pink Floyd. (and Faust since some people consider them prog rock) I'm looking for something more accessible, though -- I have plenty RIO albums. (Baggs may suggest something if he wishes to) |

Popsike (or retro-psych) is a great genre as long as your not listening to mass-fodder like Fleet Foxes or Baby Woodrose.
Are you familiar with the trio, WALTER GHOUL'S LAVENDER BRIGADE? This is primo take on Kinks/Floyd "Relics"-period. Only problem is the sound-production is a bit amateurish on the first one. When I said as much to Oliver Crumb (I believe it was) , he got all huffy and refused to admit it. ****, I said recent, didnt I? But this gotta be a decade old. Their website is long gone, but you might get summat here: WALTER GHOUL'S LAVENDER BRIGADE | Free Music, Tour Dates, Photos, Videos Excellent, excellent "accessible". |
