from what i have heard, i would say The Battle of Epping Forest is their best track. it has some spectacular moments and so many twists. which do you fancy?

That's funny...Peter Gabriel hates that song. He said it was one of their most rushed tracks, especially in terms of lyrics and he wished he could have spent much more time on it.

I just got this brilliant copy of selling england by the pound. it's a half-speed master vinyl rip to flac that runs at about 2900kbps... everything is so much clearer. it's a bit extravagant in terms of file size(1.09gb for 52 minutes of music), but I have room to spare.

*runs off to DL 465mb version of supper's ready*

It's certainly not a favourite with me. There are nice parts, but a tedious refrain and Gabriel's acting of different characters and accents makes the whole affair a bit embarassing I think.

I think that is what makes the whole song actually, all the chaotic interactions between the characters in the story that itself is supposed to be chaotic. Gabriel was one of the very few who could pull off such a variety of character impersonations, and to my knowledge the only one who could do it so convincingly on the run. I think it's a damn fine picnic... picnic... picnic.

..jealous.. where do you find stuff like that?

I have listened to a bit of Genesis.. I have 4 or 5 of their vinyls that I inherited from my mom, they were one of her favorite bands I think her top band for a while.

From what I've heard 'Selling England by the Pound' and 'the Lamb Lies Down on Broadway' are brilliant. I'm planning on listening through their discography fairly soon. I tend to like pop stuff as well so I might like their later stuff as well who knows
