from what i have heard, i would say The Battle of Epping Forest is their best track. it has some spectacular moments and so many twists. which do you fancy?

I just got this brilliant copy of selling england by the pound. it's a half-speed master vinyl rip to flac that runs at about 2900kbps... everything is so much clearer. it's a bit extravagant in terms of file size(1.09gb for 52 minutes of music), but I have room to spare.
*runs off to DL 465mb version of supper's ready* |
I really wanted this thread to start with "In the beginning"...

I have listened to a bit of Genesis.. I have 4 or 5 of their vinyls that I inherited from my mom, they were one of her favorite bands I think her top band for a while. From what I've heard 'Selling England by the Pound' and 'the Lamb Lies Down on Broadway' are brilliant. I'm planning on listening through their discography fairly soon. I tend to like pop stuff as well so I might like their later stuff as well who knows |
I got it from what.cd
you should try out foxtrot(specifically: supper's ready). |

listening to Foxtrot now, but I realized all my Genesis is garbage quality |
As of this post: 20 votes, and none for the Phil albums.
I like it like that! As staed on the last page, I voted for Foxtrot. |
I now have Nursery, Foxtrot, England, Lamb, and their self-titled. I love all of them like nothing else. I've listened to Trick and Trespass too, I think tonight I'm going to give Wind and Wuthering a listen.
My favorite song is probably The Musical Box, and I'd rank the albums lika dis: England > Foxtrot > Trick > Lamb > Nursery > Genesis > Trespass |
the best genesis song is "build me a mountain" unfortunately not available on youtube

My second favourite Prog band behind Pink Floyd is Genesis. I don't mind their Pop era but Calling All Stations is a horrid attempt at trying to return to Prog. Parts of their 80's work wasn't that great but compared to there swansong they look a lot better.
On a lighter note their early albums especially Selling England are pretty spectacular! Definitely a band you should have a look at if you have any interest at all in Prog. |
only me voted for s/t?
sad |
why does everybody love selling england by the pound so much? i thought foxtrot was way better

Thier first album (1969)
