I'm not too big on neo prog but Marillion are a solid band.

But I do think they're overrated a bit by prog fans.

Script for a Jester's Tear is fantastic. But Misplaced Childhood is considered a prog masterpiece and it just sounds like really 80s arena pop rock to me, the guitar work is great though.

I don't know why Genesis get so much hate for doing that kinda thing, but Marillion don't.

Misplaced Childhood although gaining popularity in the charts is not a huge fans favourite, in fact amongst die hard Marillion fans, tracks such as this are the business:
