While I like Tull's TAAB better as a complete album. Close to the Edge I think is the greatest prog epic; it is just flawless in every way.

My favourite prog epic at the moment is National Health's Tenemos Roads (which is not in the list), but I guess I can still stand by my vote for Close to the Edge. It really is brilliant even if I've long since listened the crap out of it

Probably few people have even heard of it, but "Creepshow" by Twelfth Night is a great prog epic, if it could be added?

As far as proggy epics go, I've always felt Starcastle deserve a bit more love than they get.

if you want to get all technical about it, "echoes" isn't even prog

it has about 3 chords, and the solos are improvised jams

not really a "traditional" prog song, in any sense of the word
