Mike Oldfield
I was listening to "Music of the Spheres" for the first time in a long time and I forgot how great this mans music is. I was wondering if anyone could suggest any other similar composers? The music Mike Oldfield make is the type of classical I enjoy. It creates an amazing atmosphere, truely beautiful music.

I really really like Amarok, it's just inconvenient. Being an hour long and all.
Tubular Bells bores the **** out of me to be frank. I'll check out Ommadawn though. |
Well if you're looking for classical then you should look up Vanessa Mae she's pretty good especially because the fact is she plays a violin and she remixes it with techno...

He has a great skill to work with different instruments and styles. For example, it's surprising what he made in Étude (for The Killing Fields soundtrack) on the basis of Tárrega's Memories of the Alhambra. Same melody but... from the classical guitar to the synthesizer, and from the Alhambra to the Cambodian Killing Fields, which could be defined as the opposite each other:

Here. Get down on it.
