Friendship Time

Complete thanks to Anteater for finding this gem.

Friendship Time were a prog band that formed in 1970 in Sweden. They were slated to release their first album in 1975, but due to internal conflict and lost interest it was never released. Thankfully some guy found the recordings in his attic in 2004, and the recordings got released by Mellotronen. Anteater heard it was a good album/compilation so he searched hard for it and finally discovered it the other day. Both he and I agree this band could have been huge if they hadn't broken up, and for me personally it's my favorite prog album that I've heard so far. They are very bass-driven, like on Yes's Fragile, but Ant says he thinks the playing is even BETTER than Chris Squire's.

PM me and/or anteater for a link, him being the one who uploaded it of course.

Didn't do much for me, but I agree that the bass is ****ing superb.

Great album, given it about one and a half spin so far and I like it a lot. I believe you when you say they broke up, but I actually think they're playing together again these days .. minus some members it seems, including the bass player :(

Welcome to Friendship Time!

Their embarassing homepage is not as good as their 1975 recordings I'm afraid.

Lol, that's one of the worst looking sites I've seen in awhile! :p:

Also, I had forgotten that they played at Melloboat a year or so ago. Almost hard to believe how good they sound even after 30 years:

One of the few progressive albums I've listened to so far, and I love the fact it's so damn obscure. Thanks Anteater I've really been enjoying listening to this. It's interesting to say the least, and there are some really obviously rockin' peaks.
