The Iron Butterly song is an absolute classic and a song that I always love to play now and again, as is Jefferson Starship`s White Rabbit and High Flyin`Bird.

The 12 notes that constitute the unforgettable sustain-guitar run for what some consider the most psychedelic track ever....were nicked from Coltrane's "India".

>Jimi Hendrix's first four albums ("Machine Gun" being somewhere on top)
>"Today" by Jefferson Airplane (it's tear-jerker)
>"Reverberation" and "You're Gonna Miss Me" by 13th Floor Elevators
> "The End," "Horse Latitudes," and "Spanish Caravan" (just because it is heavily influenced by "Asturias") by The Doors
> "Radar Eyes" and "Crusade" by Godz
> "Arnold Layne" and "Astronomy Domine" by Pink Floyd
> "The Red Telephone" by Love
> "Why Are We Sleeping" by Soft Machine
> "Fresh Garbage" by Spirit
> "Terrapin" and "Octopus" by Syd Barret
> "Sunday Morning" (sort of dream/psychedelic pop), "I'll Be Your Mirror," and "What Goes On" by The Velvet Underground

Damn, now THAT'S a memory. A long time back in my childhood, that record was in my collection, bought from a garage sale.

My favorite song from the album. More Folk/Psych, but it works for me, and it's a way to keep the conversation going on a hardly-known album.
