Mr. Tambourine man - Bob Dylan

I know there's nothing psychedelic about the instrumentals (just a few chords) but the lyrics and the feeling are pretty trippy. Bob was the original hippy.

This one is all progressive, but it kinda fits the venue.

I think Tool has some really good songs that have a psychedelic feel to them.

Tomorrow Never Knows is killer, one of the few Beatles products i would actually call great. Also, that Bella Lugosi's Dead by Bauhaus is pretty psychedelic. Oh, and of course, Crimson and Clover by Tommy James and the Shondells. It's a masterpiece!

That's funny, I just heard this song for the first time last night, but i was asleep for the first half of it and was woken up because my girlfriend got creeped out by it while she was working on jewelry. It is really good and extra trippy, i could tell it was them straight off though.

I think you're the first person I've ever heard describe Bauhaus as psychedelic, but I when I think about it that song is sort of trippy so I guess I can see why you'd say that.

Anyway, this thread needs some Zombies:

Not a serious candidate for "the greatest ever", but this song has some surprisingly psychedelic lyrics, given that the music and presentation are hardly in a hippy style :-

This one, on the other hand, is surely one of the great musical evocations of "altered awareness" :-

Who would have thought that the mighty Sabbath could also give us one of my all time trippy faves?

Not a Zep fan but this is so good:

I could listen to this everyday:

and finally the most hypnotic track I have ever heard and probably ever will, the magnificent Shot With A Diamond by Loop:
