Renaissance
I have just got into this Prog band that incorporated Folk and Symphonic edges into a classic prog framework. Very impressive. Musically dextorous without disappearing up it's own arse. They were formed from the ashes of The Yardbirds and can best be descibed as a cross between Fairport Convention and Barclay James Harvest with a dash of free Jazz.
Some details here:RENAISSANCE music, discography, MP3, videos and reviews and if anyone needs an upload or two-PM is your friend. |

I have Turn Of The Cards, which I haven't listened to for eons. I struggled with it tbh but it's on my list of second chance albums I will go back to.

I listened to "Prologue" just now, and this is perfectly the kinda symphonic prog. i prefer. The title track and Kiev are absolutely beautiful. Not to forget the ending, Rajah Khan, is quite epic. "Sound of the Sea" was kinda dull and could have been better tbh. A calm kinda song in the middle of the album would have actually worked well, but It wasn't done well. "Bound for Infinity" also was a little dull. The vocals do save it a bit, but the song could have been better overall. But the album overall was quite good. I'll give their debut a listen next.

I love Renaissance however I have lost the few albums I did have, some help would be incredibly nice.
