Definitely trippy stuff. Think I'll give it another listen now. Haven't listened to it in a while. Kind of dumped this thread sometime back . Anyways, here's another one - Litmus - Planetfall (2007) Some of those basslines are instantly recognizable (similar to Hawkwind of course) but this has more of a modern sound. Takes you for a journey! It's a bit lengthy, but even the first half should be enough to keep your head spinning. No youtube videos I'm afraid. I'll up it and send it across soon. Here are the first four tracks alone, which is around 27~ minutes odd. Should give you a good enough insight on what to expect .

Morkobot - Mostro (2006) When you combine some pretty ballzy noise rock and repetitive song structures, you get music from another world! There are only a few crappy quality live youtube stuff available other than this. So, do save your time and go fetch it here. It's all instrumental, but I suspect if bands like these added vocals, it would end up sucking. |

I am pretty sure that space rock goes like this: Psychedelic Rock>Space Rock>Stoner Rock, with Psychedelic Rock being the largest of the three. This is my favorite genre, and its still real hard for me to characterize whats what. There are TONS of great space rock bands, most of which yes are from the German Explosion. If anyone wants anything, or needs pointing in the right direction let me know. In my opinion I feel this music is he modern version of the 60/70's psychedelic movement. Most of these artist main influences were Hendrix and the Beatles, which really shows (less so Beatles). Its real riff driven almost jam band sounding heavy rock-roll.
The most recent I have been listening to are: Colour Haze Nebula Rotor 35007 Brant Bjork Los natas Hypnos 69 Dozer Bros Fatso Jenson Yawning Man SloBurn Atomic Bitchwax Orange Goblin

Have you listened to Farflung's "A Wound In Eternity"? I think that's the sort of stuff you'd like more.
I'm not a big fan of this 'stoner rock' type of stuff. Yes, many do take influences from the 70s, but I find some of it to be repetitive. Repetition within a song is fine, but when the same riffs appear in just about every other song, I get a bit tired of it. While listening to say, krautrock though, I could certainly distinguish immediately between each song and even remember most of it. |

Great stuff, thanks Demonoid! Gonna listen through the last couple of albums you posted today.
By the way, you should consider doing a space-rock journal. Add a little more info to these albums and you have some solid reviews too ..
