Thanks
![]() So I am back... PT had great playlist ![]() Occam's Razor The Blind House Great Expectations Kneel And Disconnect Drawing The Line Lazarus Hatesong Russia On Ice - first part Anestetize - middle part Time Flies Way Out Of Here Blackest Eyes Trains I am sooo happy especially about Russia on ice - it was just wow! Hatesong and Way out of here were perfect as well. Well and I really don't get why so many reviews call Porcupine Tree cold live band... Don't agree. |

Okay, I'm waaay late to Porcupine Tree. I just started listening to them in the last 3 weeks. I downloaded every album and listened to them in chronological order (and then turned around and bought my favorites). I think they have some great music. The problem I have is that some of their albums are at least half prog-rock-space-jams. I don't mind some interludes or the occasional, well thought out instrumental; but when six out of ten songs is a prog-jam (Up The Downstair) it gets a bit self-indulgent. Having said that, when they are good, they are really f'ing good. So far, my favorite three are:

I just downloaded their first album. I like the first half more than the second half. But I have only listened to it once. As far as Absentia is concerned, I have yet to see it in the same light as most PT fans - in other words, I don't think it's their best. But then again, things tend to grow on me. I'm sure I'll appreciate it more with some more listens.
