I've heard so much about this album and I'm in the process of downloading it. I confess I'm not the biggest psychedelic fan, but not from lack of interest. Artwork looks sweet though, like something of Dali's.

You're not wrong dude. Everybody should have a copy of S.F. Sorrow in their 60's collection, it's very dark and kind of proggy. I would say one of the Big 3 concept albums - the other two being Sgt.Pepper's and Ogden's Nutgone Flake. Anybody want to write a review for the sorry posters who haven't heard it? Lucifer_sam perhaps? I forgot all about it since it's all the way over on the CD rack (how quaint)...
It's amazing how the preceding album, 'Emotions', was such a crock of ****. They totally caved to the producer, some lackey on the payroll, and made an album of cheesy pop ballads drenched in strings. Surely not the same band? |

The Crazy World of Arthur Brown. Liking this album certainly ain't a guarantee, Browns vocals are so crazy on this album, his range is incredible, he goes from crooning in baritone to some of the craziest falsetto screams I've ever heard. Took me a couple of listens, but I really love this. No guitar, a lot of organ, and just a really trippy album. |

Arthur Brown was a special kind of nutter, I wonder if it was all drugs? That 'Nightmare' spot is amazing, the drummer totally steals the spotlight though IMO... thanks for bringing that album to light, I knew I was missing something

The Lyrics point to Drugs...and also fire and burning.
I am the god of hell fire, and I bring you Fire, I'll take you to burn Fire, I'll take you to learn I'll see you burn You fought hard and you saved and earned But all of it's going to burn And your mind, your tiny mind You know you've really been so blind Now 's your time, burn your mind You're falling far too far behind Oh no, oh no, oh no, you're gonna burn Fire, to destroy all you've done Fire, to end all you've become I'll feel you burn You've been living like a little girl In the middle of your little world And your mind, your tiny mind You know you've really been so blind Now 's your time, burn your mind You're falling far too far behind OOhhh Fire, I'll take you to burn Fire, I'll take you to learn You're gonna burn, you're gonna burn You're gonna burn, burn, burn, burn, burn, burn, burn, burn, burn, burn, burn Fire, I'll take you to burn Fire, I'll take you to learn Fire, I'll take you to bed Gotta love how he slips in his plan to sleep with the groupies after the show. |
