Split is easily one of the best hard rock albums of the 1970s, never mind one of the Groundhogs best. Try also "Thank Christ for the Bomb" - there aren't any "Cherry Reds" on it, but it's unholy noise at its very best :D
Also try The Pink Fairies "Kings of Oblivion". |
Tomorrow I have to give me Music History class a 15minute presentation on Psychedelic music and drugs affect on it. And ideas of a good music video to play afterwords for everyone??

This is a fucking brilliant thread, and I'd have to be a complete idiot to not subscribe to it. Reading through this I found sixteen psychedelic bands I didn't know of before, all of which I liked. Thank you Music Banter. =)

I've hotlinked mojo and 9's reviews in the index that can be found in the first post of the thread...
just a note to say if you write a review it will be archived providing a reasonable amount of effort has gone into the layout (i.e. a heading) and it's more than a few lines long. A picture and/or youtube vid/streaming sample of the album in question is encouraged too I guess. |
For some reason I just found this thread, I've been itching to get into 60s psych stuff but didn't know where to start. I guess this thread should just about take care of it. I haven't heard anything from at least 90% of the bands in here. I may have a few albums of my own to add though, I'll look through and see if anything's worth mentioning. Great thread, thanks molecules!
