Tool is better but I really dig APC..I saw them open for NIN the day Mer de Noms was released...I haven't heard (seen?) Amotive yet..

Stone Magnet 04-13-2006 12:36 PM

I've never cared for them. I'm glad that they are over with.

Nikie Pentagram 04-13-2006 03:13 PM

You saw them? eMOTIVe is good. `What's so funny 'bout Peace Love and Understanding` and `What's going on` are good tracks in my opinion. Check 'em, they're pretty soft - and along the lines of 3 Libras.

Isn't the whole album like full of covers?

What's Going On - Marvin Ga ye.

Imagine - John Lennon.

Seriously, are there any original A.P.C. songs on that album, cuz I'm interested in knowing if there actually is?

Levithan 04-14-2006 11:09 AM

I only heard them today, but I really liked it. Im getting an album soon

theyre not over after maynard tours with tool, which will be a while theyre in japan either soon or now, he'll go back into the studio with billy

emotive sucks ass and most of it is covers.
passive is original but it's from maynard's other side project tapeworm with trent reznor.
tool is way better

PostPsychosis 04-14-2006 11:25 AM

The first album had some good songs, and the second one had a couple okay songs, the third album sucked royally. To think anyone could turn When the Levee breaks into that, eww.

explosions-in-my-pants 04-14-2006 11:29 AM

I like APC i think there really good. I like Tool much more tho.. there more rock and there lyrics are much more darker and deeper.. APC with the covers they've done i only like John Lennons the most i think.. i think they did a amazing job with Imagine..

PostPsychosis 04-14-2006 11:30 AM

Yeah I have to admit Imagine was good when I think about it...

swim 04-14-2006 11:34 AM

i like apc's remixes theyre pretty awesome

Nikie Pentagram 04-14-2006 12:51 PM

Blue's remix was good. Boy oh boy you guys ... well, I adore APC. Obviously Tool is better, but still. I wasn't aware most of the songs on eMOTIVe were covers to be honest, I knew Imagine was and I knew a few of the others, but certainly not What's going on. Sheesh that's a shock.

swim 04-14-2006 01:00 PM

didnt you notice there wasnt that much time between 13th step and emotive
like months

In a recent interview with Tool in some French magazine, Maynard said that APC is done with.

Merkaba 04-14-2006 04:46 PM

APC got off to a good start with their first two albums. They were delicate I'd say. A little more artistically soft, with some headthumpers every now and again. I did love all of their music off those two albums, especially The Package.

But eMotive just sucked arse. A political-Mr.-Nogoodmusic. They definitely shouldn't have released that one.

I would assume so, yeah. Maynard's done with APC, and Adam said that for the next Tool album, he'd like to have Maynard there for the entire writing/recording process, so I'm expecting a new Tool album within the next 2-3 years, definitely.

apc_fan 04-14-2006 07:51 PM

yeah i love APC, i think there lyrics are more meaningful than Tool's but i still love tool!! yeah i know all the songs on emotive's album are cover songs except 2 of them but i still love that album. But i like the 1 and 2 albums much more.

I wasn't aware of their existence until a year ago, more or less. Blue has to the one of the best songs on Thirteenth Step, along with The Package and Weak and Powerless. As for Mer De Noms, I'm hooked on Magdalena.

Merkaba 04-15-2006 02:40 AM

Magdalena is an awesome song, probably one of my favourites off that album.

Thinking Of You is another one I love.

When I went to see them in concert, Josh Freese was drumming away to that song and his drumstick broke, he threw it away and flicked up another one within like .1 of a second. It was pretty awesome how he did that. It's as if nothing had happened.

NaNaNer 12-18-2006 12:41 PM

I like Tool..my fav. band..I totally dig APC...I have seen both live..excellent shows...I think that when it comes to "modern" rock it doesnt get much better.

Blain 12-18-2006 03:15 PM

Love both bands.

ThirdEyeOpen 12-18-2006 03:20 PM

Six months ago I did not like Tool at all. Let me take that back, I liked the song "Sober" and that was about it. I was into emo and punk and Tool was way too serious for my tastes at the time. And then I started hanging out with an entirely different group of people and they all happened to be huge Tool fans. I held out as long as I could but was done in by a combination of "Ticks and Leeches" and mushrooms. Since then, I have become a huge Tool fan.

As for A Perfect Circle, I'm still not really into them that much. They're good and all, but I like Tool so much more it isn't even funny. I think part of the reason is that, unlike a lot of Tool fans, I don't worship at the alter of Maynard James Keenan, I worship at the alter of Adam Jones. I respect Maynard and everything, but I honestly think that Adam brings the band together. And henceforth, I'm not much of an APC fan.

Except for the Emotive album. That album rocks my ass off.

swim 12-18-2006 03:52 PM

Emotive sucks it harder than a whore.

~nutshell~ 12-18-2006 04:01 PM

Tool is ****ing great. APC is great too, though I can see how they might be a little harder to get into at first...I love them, but not as much as Tool

The Unfan 12-18-2006 04:22 PM

I like Tool but I can't seem to get into APC past a handful of songs on their first album.

Aye, that it does. I don't even acknowledge it as part of their discography.

I like APC but I never seem to listen to their two albums anymore, however I still rate The Package as one of the coolest songs I've ever heard.

skindredluver 12-18-2006 05:19 PM

I couldnt chooes between the two i like them both equal.

IMATOOL 12-18-2006 07:06 PM

APC is Maynard woman half and Tool is his penis

TheBig3 12-18-2006 11:08 PM

where the hell have you been?

Spike*Spiegel 12-20-2006 12:33 AM

i never really could get into apc. a liked a few of their songs but i just cant sit down and listen to an entire album like i can with tool.

Mr Sensitive 12-20-2006 05:31 AM

I love the feeling you get when you listen to an entire Tool album in one sitting.

littleknowitall 12-20-2006 05:44 AM

Tool can bore me a little, i could listen to APC all day if i wanted to....

Zombie_Fetish 12-20-2006 11:43 AM
