Both the most-recent releases from Tool and APC were disappointing. It seems like Maynard is always off and on. a lot of people are talking about the new tool in 2005, let's wait and see what thats like.

i think that tool has that sort of egde to it that u just can't ignore and a perfect circle seems to be more rythmetic i can't choose between them i love both bands just as much especially beacause they both have the same singer and i just can't complain his voice is amazing in my opinion

Tool is prog metal where APC is hard rock. It's apples and oranges but I think history will look more favorably on TOOL than APC. TOOL were unknowns when they broke (unless you want to bring up Green Jelly which maybe 35 of the pop knew about) where as APC is a super group. People expect way too much from supergroups. They want a greatest hits album, every CD. TOOL.

Personally, I hated Emotive, and besides Danny Carey's drumming, I didn't care much for Lateralus. In fact, the only Tool album I really listen to is Opiate, the rest I now find tiresome. 13th Step was good and so was most of Mer de Noms. It is hard to compare the two, but Maynard's been leaning in a certain direction after Aenima, and I'm interested to see what the new Tool album will sound like.
