Default Pure Reason Revolution

A Prog band with elements of Porcupine Tree, Barclay James Harvest and Yes-those two especially in the vocal harmonies. I am really digging these. There is a lot of potential. Here is their myspace page. Anyone liking it, I can up their album THE DARK THIRD.

I know a girl who's been trying to promote them for at least a year and a half now and I did give them a listen when she first mentioned them but I really can't remember any of their songs. I'll give them another listen because I'm sure I liked what I heard.

seen them live about 5 times... thought they were awesome live, then they released the EP which was horribly overproduced... they have a long track (cant remember the name) which is stunning live but sounded **** recorded. disappointing.

We still need to promote them! I have'nt seen them live and there is certain aspects of their music I'm not into. All in all though, I like them. Twin vocalists. Harmonys. Metal riffs and Pink Floyd noodlings-PROGGY MAN get your ass here now!

Right. I've given them a proper chance now. I love Nimos And Tambos and I like a load of their longer songs but I consider them background music more than anything else.

Not bad at all.

I was expecting something a bit less catchy by your description, but it definitely has a sort of Spock's Beard-esque pop charm to it.

I saw this band live back in early 2005, one of the first shows I ever went to. They were supporting a band I went to see (Mew), and they were fcking amazing. I had no idea who they were til that night, but I was very impressed. Still never heard anything by them on record though, could never find anything back then.

I have only heard The Dark Third and was impressed. Did not sound THAT similar to PT thought. Many of the riffs were not that catchy also.

Overall good band though, i look forward to hearing more.
