De-Loused in the Comatorium (2003) - 10/10 - one of my favorite albums, I'd say probably their most approachable, I guess a result of the Rick Rubin production, which the band later lamented since it was apparently "too palatable" and they were trying to make "the future of music".

I know this thread and comment are old, but I just had to drop my 2 cents here. I'd agree with everything stated. De-Loused is still the best Mars Volta thing ever. I love it, far more than anything else they've done. And the lyrics?? I mean... "Exoskeletal junction at the railroad delayed...!!" How can you go wrong??
