The Mars Volta is an amazing band. I really do pity anybody who can't enjoy listening to them.
I also love At The Drive-In, but if I had to choose between the two, I would definetely choose TMV. Relationship of Command was fantastic, but their other previous albums weren't as great. TMV has been and continues to be consistently amazing. Everyone's seen the video where they watch 2 girls 1 cup right? Too funny. |
"for such an adventurous band, we're a bunch of pussies."

Cedric's the man.

LEAKED OCTAHEDRON TRACKS!!!
|
Huh, interesting.
The first is great classic TMV, not much of progression in their sound but very catchy. The second is dull, completely abandons what makes them such a cool band. I spent the whole song waiting for it to build into something. I hope the album can find a middle ground between the two. |
I REALLY like the first one, but what on earth is that second one? It's okay, but way too long for what it is.
|
Well, "Since We've Been Wrong" is the starting track, so I guess it's more of an overture along the lines of Vicarious Atonement.
Considering Vicarious was seven minutes long, I think they are being rather merciful this time. Also, I'm glad that we are seeing more of Ceddy's awesome vocal range this time around. I have no idea why he insisted to remain in falsetto during most of Bedlam. |

Cotopaxi is AWESOME.

I don't understand why people are complaining about the second song, it's most certainly going to be incredibly different on record. Especially considering TMV love being incredibly secretive about their music. Also I think it's pretty good.
