I've only heard his collaboration with Damo Suzuki. And I only checked that out because of Damo Suzuki , not him.

The Omar album I listened to sounded pretty much like a weirder, more electronic, instrumental version of The Mars Volta. I got it because he's my favorite guitarist.

I didn't like the latest one Omar put out. I feel like he's just ****ting out whatever comes out, without even thinking about it. Now A Manual Dexterity - ****ing brilliant. I didn't realize what the cover of it really was until I ate some mushies one night and looked/listen to it. Fuuuuuuck....

I'm a fan of the Volta. De-Loused in the Comatorium is definitely my favorite. Frances the Mute, Amputechre, and The Bedlam in Goliath.. I dig them all. I had a chance to see them a year or two ago which I passed up, and for that I punch my d!ck in prostration!! AAHHH!!! I remember listening to L'Via La Viaquez with an old girlfriend, and she got all wierded out and scared because of the vocals at the end of the song and skipped the track.. Needless to say, we are no longer together.

Omar's solo work is hit or miss for me. However, the album cover of A Manual Dexterity. I had no idea what exactly it was, until I inspected it while I was on mushrooms and listening to it. "Oh.. It's a mannequin!"

He jumped back into it in the early 80s. And I saw him touring with the Village of Idiots two years ago. :D

The Mars Volta (and At the Drive in) are one of my all-time favorite groups. My favorite album of theirs is easily De-Loused followed by Amputechture. Im really excited for their new release Octehedron due in June I think.

Yep, it's coming out on June 23. Let's hope it leaks sooner :D

I like the collab with Damo, the associated album does less for me though it's mainly the tones that bug me, and those are present in the Volta also. I like their new drummer real well...

Cool, excited to hear new stuff, and excited that it's 49 minutes.

I played Goliath again today, and it really is good, but just too long for me. Ideal album for me is between 40 and 50 minutes. Especially something heavy and dense like this.
