This seems like a good place to put this. This is my favourite Hendrix moment....

And here is the story behind it.....
Quote:
The story goes that Jimi was supposed to appear on Lulu's program. He was supposed do "Hey Joe", She'd be waiting in the Wings to join him to sing... Jimi knew this, and he wasn't about to let some women steal his thunder. So, unrehearsed, and unknown to the producers of the show, Jimi simply says, "We're gonna stop playing this rubbish..." and goes on to dedicate his next number to the members of Cream, who announced they were splitting up that week and goes into a Instrumental Version of "Sunshine of your Love". Which was considered a BIG No-NO in those says... for like a brief second, the BBC totally lost control of one of thier programs. They cut transmission and Jimi was in fact taken off the air. He never appeared on TV, on the BBC, ever again.

Bold as Love (the solo at the end is pure bliss)

Are You Experienced (the best backmasked guitar solo in the world)

Voodoo Chile

And I have a special affinity for May This Be Love...

There is a lot more to Hendrix than this track. Have you actually listened to his studio albums?

As big a fan as I am of Hendrix, I think Stevie Ray Vaughans version of Little Wing is better than the original.

Dude! I heard that. I was just going to say that, but you beat me to it. Having said that, Jimmy did write the song, so a huge KUDOS to him.

Purple Haze, All Along The Watchtower, Voodoo Child, Manic Depression, or Hey Joe.
