I posted one a few pages back. It's my favourite too. At least for now anyway, it keeps changing.

All of you people who are putting Purple Haze are disappointing me. You know a true Hendrix fan when they don't put Purple Haze as their favorite. Even though it is his most famous song, it is probably his most shallow song.

my favorites:

Gypsy Eyes - Electric Ladyland

"Way up in my tree Im sitting by my fire
Wondrin where in this world might you be
And knowin all the time youre still roamin in the country side
Do you still think about me?

Oh my gypsy".

The Wind Cries Mary - Are You Experienced

"A broom is drearily sweeping
Up the broken pieces of yesterdays life"

I don't know about you guys but I think those are some genius lyrics.

Voodoo Chile... Nothing beats 15 minutes of blues played by Jimi Hendrix himself. It's a tough choice though, he has made so many incredible songs.

I like the song where Jimi plays the National Anthem and you get to hear the sound effects and his makes his guitar cry it's beautiful.

I don't know if it's just the regular national Anthem or if it's a song that includes part of it.

I'm guessing you've heard the RHCP cover? Frusciante does a sweet job.

Anyway, my current fav is 1983... (A Merman I Should Turn To Be).

Oh yeah, but I still like the Hendrix version better--I like Jimi's vocals better than Anthony...
