astro man was never really finished as a song, it's only on compilations and the line 'that old ***got superman' generally doesn't sit well with most and makes hendrix seem a little bigoted.

where's 'valleys of neptune' from? i've never heard of it and i've got about a dozen hendrix discs.

Thats exactly what I said in another thread a couple of days ago. It always sparks a fire under some people though to be fair. It's a big statement to make.

if the hendrix version would have been 7minutes instead of just 3, it might just have kicked vaughan's version in the butt. Vaughan's Little Wing could have been a bit, you know, tremendous IMO.
Little Wing makes me shut my eyes and dream, no mater which version. But to me, the Hendrix version is just perfect. really short, but perfect. + I also like the singing.
