I dont even have to give it a second thought "LITTLE WING" is my favorite song of Hendrix and anyone ever..period. To me the melodic chord structure and dreamy sound along with the groovy lyrics give it such a surreal sound that nothing can ever compare to it. I learned the song was written about a place close to where Hendrix was from and he would visit there whenever he got the chance. I've heard this songs influence in several popular hit songs through the years and it's no doubt Hendrix most ingenius pieces of work he ever put together. I'll post some of the songs below that to me are heavily Hendrix inspired chord and sound wise.

There are so many, but I would find it particularly difficult to choose between All Along the Watchtower, Voodoo Chile and Fire. I wish he was still alive, along with Phil Lynott.

Today would have been Jimi's 70th birthday. Hard to believe he was only 27 when he left this earth. What an impressive body of work he produced in such a short time and at such a young age.
I can't say I have a favorite song of his though. There are just so many incredibly great ones to choose from, I find it impossible to pick just one of them. |
Castles Made of Sand....yep.

And, yes, Little Wing is my absolutely favorite song of his, and even one of my very favorite songs of all time. |
^^ Ditto.
Little Wing has a permanent little nest in my brain. |
Fire
Mine's gotta be Fire...short and sweet (well that's kinda like most of them I guess!)

"Purple Haze" with "The Wind Cries Mary" being a close second.

Castles made of sand/machine gun
Castles for the "softer" Jimi Hendrix. It narrowly beat out little wing, mostly because I absolutley love the lyrics on castles made of sand. Machine gun is an amazing jam that sends chills up my spine. |
