Yes, I heard it too although this version jams more notes into the melody line. Today’s obsession with copyright has only been with us for a few centuries.
Several centuries ago if a composer regurgitated another’s melody line it would be taken as a compliment, not theft. Never mind, keeps a hoard of copyright lawyers in caviar.

As for road pop, I used to love Golden Earring's big hit, and have since come across an even better cover version of Radar Love. This is out and out rock, not pop, so it's your chance for revenge, Ayn: berate me all you want for putting the wrong song of the wrong genre in the wrong thread.
You’ve got me the wrong way around.(You should be so lucky !) I find the task of deciding which of the many forum categories to dump a song/symphony/etc is a tedious process given so much music today is a blend of styles and types. On the other hand I haven’t any brilliant ideas on alternative ways to organise a music forum such as this.

It’s just occured to me to wonder why those two chose to film that scenario to the background of Fever. But then again I do have an obsession with reading gay explanations into otherwise innocent stories.

JJ Cale is a great choice for a car journey: the chugging beat of his songs is just right. The Troubador album is his acknowledged best, and who am I to disagree with that?

Wonder if they recorded a studio version ?
Glad you liked it, Ayn ! Sorry, I don't know anything about the band, or what they have/haven't done in the studio.

Well, that's reassuring for me: the idea that perhaps I have some notion of what I am listening to. Thanks.

Instructions for listening to LA Woman:
1. Start car and turn on stereo
2. Depress clutch and engage first gear.
3. Move off and steadily accelerate through the Doors instrumental intro
4. Done correctly, you will be at cruising speed when Jim Morrison starts singing.

You sweet, old fashioned thing. I can’t brag about changing gears, I don’t have any in my little battery powered bomb but it can knock your head off doing 0 - 100kmh in 40 secs.
Can’t use the E-TRON GT all the time though as my dogs don’t fit in the back and it’s a bit rough on some of the crappy country roads around here. Magic though for picking up a certain kind of hitchhiker.
