Nobody loves you when you're down and out Nobody sees you when you're on cloud nine Everybody's hustlin' for a buck and a dime I'll scratch your back and you scratch mine I've been across to the other side I've shown you everything, I got nothing to hide But still you ask me, do I love you? What it is? What it is? All I can tell you is it's all show biz All I can tell you is it's all show biz Nobody loves you when you're down and out Nobody knows you when you're on cloud nine Everybody's hustlin' for a buck and a dime I'll scratch your back and you knife mine I've been across the water now so many times I've seen the one-eyed witchdoctor leading the blind But still you ask me, do I love you? What you say? What you say? Every time I put my finger on it, it slips away Every time I put my finger on it, it slips away Well, I get up in the morning And I'm looking in the mirror to see, oo-wee! Then I'm lying in the darkness And I know I can't get to sleep, oo-wee! Nobody loves you when you're old and grey Nobody needs you when you're upside down Everybody's hollerin' 'bout their own birthday Everybody loves you when you're six foot in the ground |

The Producer of this Mix has done a really great job..
His comments are on the youtube page if anybody wants to read about his thoughts on his mix version.... |
John Lennon gave "I Am the Walrus" the most random lyrics because he was mad that everyone was over-analyzing all of his lyrics at the time.
Cover 1st....... Also on the youtube page are loads an loads of links....takes up time... if you have some spare... |

The ‘you know my name ‘ one I’d never heard before either. Apparently was a b side to Let It Be. Sounds like a bit of messing around by the boys |

There's some funny stories of how they recorded the vocals, not hard to find. It's Brian Jones on the saxophone at the end. |

Di liking this thread. Everyone knows the well known tracks but is interesting to hear rarities and different demos/takes. I’m wondering if I’m missing out on some good music by not really having been into the Beatles.
Think I may have to give them a chance to convert me :) Thanks for putting this together, you’ve put a lot of hard work and research into this. Hopefully others may have items to add  |
I heard 'You know my name' this morning online and it set me off looking for more rarer songs...So made the thread on the spur of the moment. Once I found a few it just flowed and was certainly easy for me..liking and doing is the key.

Shows some of London around the area of No.3 Savile Row, London.. I had worked at No.25 Savile Row from leaving School at 15 years of age. Would walk past No.3 everyday, but had left the Civil Service before the Beatles set up that Music Studio... my department was moving out of London so that means I had to leave the excitement of London in the Mid 60's,well behind me. Season ticket no longer and so could not afford the journeys to the Music Venues any longer.... 1966 was married a year Later anyway....by 1968 life was crap with our first baby to be followed one year later with Twins..frigging Twins... A bit late by then to realise that was not what I wanted for a life. Suited my Sister but not moi. |
