Fall Of The Plastic Empire (2001, Buddyhead) is the debut lp from the rock band, Burning Brides. Not bad. Went to school with front man, Dimitri Coats. Why? They certainly played it to death. I grant you - it’s a great song but the over saturation of the airwaves (couldn’t avoid it on the radio) with it makes it seem like a jingle now. Same with Sinêad O’Connor’s Prince cover that year -

gonna make you sweat (everybody dance now) c&c music factory The debut album of the same name is a dance and aerobics classic. Hardly listen to it anymore but it sure got play back in the day. |
