Some nice pop duets there, Eleanor. I especially like Ebony and Ivory which does something worthwhile that music is always capable of, but doesn't necessarily do: send a message and example of racial tolerance.
Here's one of the most famous duets of the 60s. Like so much pop, it's a rather manufactured commodity and looking at it today I wondered, what exactly is the product Sonny and Cher are offering ? Answer, imo: buy into a hippy fairy tale about two good-looking lovers, united in rejecting convention and living in blissful poverty. I feel that they, and the entire audience should be wearing rose-coloured spectacles.
