I really can't offer any lists, since as I say pop for me was pretty much something I looked down my nose at when a teen/young adult and since I got into prog, metal, AOR etc I've given it a little more appreciation but in general know next to nothing about what goes where. So I'll just sit back and listen to albums as they come up and vote but I'm afraid I won't be any help compiling lists.
On the bright side, there won't be any "that's-not-a-rock-opera!" style fumes and rants like over at the other thread. ;) I would suggest though Goofle seeing if you can drag in the pop princess on this. I reckon MissPopTart would be a very valuable and knowledgeable resource to have. |
I'll try to make one or two more lists. Feeling burnt out from all the ones I've been doing recently though.
Country-Pop Taylor Swift- Fearless Toby Keith- Unleashed Zac Brown Band- The Foundation Carrie Underwood- Some Hearts Garth Brooks- Man Against Machine Rehab- Graffiti the World Brad Paisley- Wheelhouse Florida Georgia Line- Here's to the Good Times Eric Church- Chief Blake Shelton- Based on a True Story |

At least, everyone in their wrong minds.

Let's say we agree on Psychedelic Pop, what would we change about JGuy's list?
1. Beatles - Magical Mystery Tour 2. Love - Forever Changes m 3. Bee Gees - 1st 4. Beach Boys - Surf's Up 5. Zombies - Odyssey and Oracle 6. Monkees - Headquarters 7. Kaleidoscope - Tangerine Dream 8. Donovan - Mellow Yellow 9. The Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots 10. The Kinks - Something Else by the Kinks Personally I would add an Animal Collective (MPP probably fits the bill most) and of Montreal album to rep this millennium. Probably Congratulations by MGMT as well if I'm greedy. |
Well, can't Animal Collective and of Montreal fit in Avant-Pop, and MGMT in alt-pop?
