I guess you can argue Adele is fairly similar to that style of music- but I guess there's not so many these days as that style can sound a bit dated

My thoughts exactly!

Mariah and Celine both make me wince. Whitney had a great range, and recorded some decent stuff in the early days, but by the time she was a megastar she was sounding totally generic.

Divas? Give me Dusty Springfield, Shirley Bassey, or Aretha Franklin any day over those three.
