Default Melanie Martinez

So I discovered her on America's singing show "The Voice", she didn't win her season but she went far, and I really like her persona and take on pop music. Anyone else listen to her? I love rasp in her voice.

Many of you know her from my earlier avatar choices.

Music

Her first performance on The Voice, a cover of Brittany Spears - Toxic.

Later in the show she performed White Stripes - Seven Nation Army.

Also, one of many artists to cover Bon Iver - Skinny Love.

And here are a couple of her originals...

Dear Porcupine

Dead To Me

Pity Party

and for a taste of her quirky personality

Never heard of her. I really don't watch those television talent contest. Just really not my cup of tea. The first two vids are not working for me. But rest did. She sounds good. From what I have seen, those people on those shows tend to sing covers most of the time. It's good to see someone who's capable of writing their own material and who is willing to perform it at those shows. I like the song called Dear Porcupine. I like what the song says. But, yeah, she sounds good.

Default Scandal

I have heard that there was some sort of scandal surrounding her that made her the artist to avoid at one point, but I can’t seem to remember what that was all about… does anyone know what I’m talking about?

Really??? That’s so interesting to me. Young customers I assume? I didn’t know she was in demand to that extent. Maybe she’s experiencing a second coming of her career — so to speak.
